What a Doula does
Your doula will get to know you and all your birthing wants. They start by meeting you, and preferably others in you want to be in the delivery room. Our doulas primary focus is the mother and her birthing process, but we realize that the bond between partners are extremely important. And Joyous Beginnings is proud to support and help enhance the birthing experience for all parents. Continuous birth support can be a daunting task for any loved one to carry out, and your doula will be a place of safety and support.
Doulas generally carry a birth bag with items to help in the birth. Every Joyous Beginnings Doula prepares a birth bag specific for you with items you have selected. Everything from special scents and lip balms, to snacks, flowers, and atmosphere aids are packed with your preferences in mind. No two birth bags are alike, and neither are any two births. Thats why Joyous Beginnings Doulas are with you to aid and promote the best birth experience for you and your baby. Whether your birth is at home, or in hospital, completely natural to necessary cesarean. We believe every mother deserves the absolute best support.

Our Service
Parents who choose a Joyous Beginnings Doula will receive one planning meeting, two prenatal visits, the entire labor and birth support (including a minimum of two hours immediate postpartum), and a postpartum visit. We also will include on-call service for any questions or concern you may have, postpartum preparation, and assistance with developing a birth plan.
